Pauline M. Leidholt, age 90, of Miles City passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the Holy Rosary Extended Care in Miles City.
Pauline was born on May 28, 1922 in Dickinson, North Dakota, the youngest child in a family of ten born to Jacob and Theresia (Heck) Herauf. In 1936, Pauline moved to Miles City to live with her oldest sister Monie and her husband Ed Selbman. She graduated from Custer County High School in 1940. While going to high school, Pauline worked under the watchful eye of Monie training to be a beautician. Pauline passed her beauticians state boards at Great Falls in 1940. Pauline met the love of her life when a customer and friend introduced Pauline to her brother. On February 22, 1945, Pauline and Leonard Leidholt were united in marriage in Miles City at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church by Monsignor Thomas Hennesy. Their marriage would last for 65 years until Leonard’s death in 2010. To this union, four daughters were born: LynneRae, Karleen, Darci and Stephanie.
Pauline was not only a beautician for 51 years, but a very good homemaker. She was an excellent seamstress and crocheted for many years. Her cooking talents were unsurpassed and you were always welcome at her home. Her happy attitude spread to everyone. During their retirement years, Pauline and Leonard square danced all around the world. Pauline was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was always very strong in her faith.
Pauline is survived by her four daughters: LynneRae (Paul) Hazelton, Karleen (Derrick) Rodgers, Darci (Tim) Donnelly and Stephanie (Kevin) Thomason all of Miles City; 8 grandchildren: Shawn Hazelton, Dustin Rodgers, Jay, Rob, Clint and Jill Donnelly and Tony and Terrell Thomason; three great grandchildren: Kiran Hazelton and Callie & Rhett Donnelly. Leroy Herauf says
We always enjoyed visiting Aunt Pauline, she was very sharp and had a good sense of humor. Only once did she mess up when she thought Jeanette was my wife, but then again seeing somebody so seldom does make it difficult. I have many memories of the times when the Leidholt family visited us on the farm in Dickinson. Uncle Leonard and Aunt Pauline always had the fancy new cars.
We offer the family our deepest sympathy.

Pauline and Leonard were some our favorite dancers. They danced in several of our clubs in Billings for many years. Pauline often brought us a special homemade treat or handmade doilie. We have missed them both very much. We offer our sincere condolences to the family.

Jeanette (Herauf) Eberts says
We are all so sorry to hear about Aunt Pauline. I bet her and Uncle Leonard are dancing away up above in their fancy matching, twirly outfits. I hope she gives all our love and regards to Dad, Grandma and Grandpa, and all the other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Kind of sets in that the last of the Herauf siblings has passed. I remember when all you guys would come to the farm in the CAMPER!!! Wow!! What a life we thought that was. We loved coming to Miles City too and going to the shop. Sue was right! We did love haircuts from a real professional! I am so glad we got to see her not too long ago. It was always fun to listen to Uncle Leonard too and all of his stories. The happy memories you share will get you all through this sad time. May God grant you peace…….. Jeanette and Dennis Eberts
