Robert Ranieri, 89, passed away peacefully, after a short, unexpected illness, in his home, with his wife of 68 years by his side in Miles City, Montana on April 29, 2021.
Bob was a Korean War veteran who proudly served in the Army. In 1953 Bob met his wife, Maria, in Germany during his service. They had their first child, a daughter, Irene while in Germany. Bob was then honorably discharged in 1955. He and his growing family returned to America and settled in Great Falls for some time. Here they had two more daughters, Lori and Patricia.
Bob and his wife, Maria, were self-taught builders. They remodeled many homes and finally built a magnificent home from the ground up on a beautiful mountain side in Hardy Creek. While this home was meant to be a retirement home, Bob’s health prevented it and they returned to Great Falls.
Bob was a gypsy at heart. Sitting in one spot for too long made his feet itch. So they bought a motor home, moved into it and traveled the entire United States.
Finally in 2010 Bob and Maria settled in Miles City, MT, close to two of their daughters and four grandchildren.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman. He took his children and grandchildren camping and fishing nearly every weekend.
Bob was the perfect example of an excellent husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He will be greatly missed by his loving family.
He is survived by his wife, 2 children, 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
His family loved him dearly. He was a humble good man. There will be no services per Bob’s request.

To the Ranieri’s,
Nathan informed me of Bob’s passing yesterday . I am so sorry for your loss. He was a wonderful man. I have thought of him many times as he taught me so many things regarding carpentry, plumbing and electrical work. Every time I have worked on something in the house I used that knowledge and it reminded me of him and the times we had when he was my father-in-law. I in turn have taught all 4 of my sons many of those same skills. I will always appreciate the chance to know him.
You all take care and again I am so sorry for your loss.
