On the early morning of February 8, 2020, Rodney “Rod” Charles Price passed away in his home at Eagles Manor in Miles City, MT. Rod was 64 years old.
Rod was born on December 4th, 1955 on a cold winter night in Miles City, MT. He was the second child and second son born to mother, Jeannine Price (Klunder) and father, Forrest “Pat” Price. Rod joined his brother, Ken Price and was raised on the family farm in Kinsey, MT. He was later joined by brother, Danny Price and sister, Patti Jo Brewster (Price). Rod attended Kinsey school through 8th grade and moved on to high school in Miles City where he graduated from Custer County High School in 1975.
Growing up Rod and his brother, Danny were inseparable, they were two peas in a pod, always together. Rod learned from an early age to work hard, he drove tractors, stacked hay, irrigated, and moved cattle and sheep riding horses. Others always said that Rod had perfect balance while riding horse whether in the saddle or bare back. Growing up Rod loved to cook and could put a meal on the table for his family at the age of 12.
Rod met his wife, Terri Price (Tucek) in April of 1976. They were married on October 15th, 1977. They had three children together, a daughter, Erin Price, a son, Chad Price, and another daughter, Krystal Lindvig (Price). Rod loved spending time with his family baking, gardening, and taking his family on many camping and fishing trips. He was quite the fisherman. Rod was later blessed with two grandchildren, Kale Dunning and Kaison Lindvig. Rod connected with his grandchildren in a special way. They called him “papa”. Papa Rod taught Kale how to fish and the ways of an outdoorsman. They had developed a strong bond over the love of the same activities.
Rod spent out his days with his family and friends having picnics, fishing, camping, and cooking. His close pal, Andy Loomis, was always by his side in whatever ventures they had planned for the day. Rod was a strong, patient, loving, and kind individual. Many would say they’ve never met a more humble and gentle man. He would give the shirt off of his back. There wasn’t a bad bone in his body. Rod had an impact on everyone he met and will be greatly missed by many.
Rod was proceeded in death by: his father, Forrest “Pat” Price, brother, Danny Price, and close friend, Andy Loomis.
Rod is survived by: his wife, Terri Price (Tucek), mother, Jeannine Price (Klunder), daughter, Erin Price, son, Chad Price, daughter, Krystal Lindvig (Price), grandson, Kale Dunning, grandson, Kaison Lindvig, brother, Ken Price, sister, Pattie Jo Brewster (Price), son in law, Kristian Lindvig, daughter in law, Kristi Price, sister in law, Lynn Price, and brother in law, Wes Brewster.

My condolences to all of Rod’s family. I haven’t seen Rod since we were kids in Miles City, but his parents were an important part of my family’s early history. I found their names again recently going through some of my Dad’s stuff – they were the only witnesses when my folks got married in 1952, and stayed in close contact with them for many years. I hope your memories of the good times with Rod help you through these difficult times.
