Rose Langwald went to meet the Lord on February 6, 2015 surrounded by her wonderful caregivers at Holy Rosary Extended Care.
Rose was born on September 19, 1929 to William and Elizabeth Gerhardt (Vogel) in Timmer, ND where she lived until the age of 5. Her family moved to their farm in Flasher where she attended school. She was married to Melvin Myers and to that union 2 children were born, Caroline and Robert. When that marriage ended she moved to Mandan, ND to take care of her father due to the death of her mother. In 1962 she moved to Miles City, MT where she worked at the Holy Rosary Hospital from 1962 until 1977. She met the love of her life George Nagle and they had a long courtship before marrying in 1985. Rose helped him raise his two young daughters, Marie and Carol. George passed away in May of 1989. She moved off the ranch and lived in Glendive and then moved to Fairview, MT. It was there where she met Karl Langwald in church and later married. Karl passed away in 2001 and Rose moved back to Miles City to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. She moved to Holy Rosary Extended Care where she enjoyed bingo, crafts, church and daily visits from her family.
Rose loved to cook, bake and garden and shared with her family and neighbors. She was known for her caramel rolls and sugar cookies.
Rose will be missed and always remembered by her daughter and son in law Carol and Michael (Blackie) Schneider of Miles City. Grandchildren Doug Schneider (Jill) of Rhame, ND, Jenny (Arik) Olson and Robert (Sarah) Schneider of Miles City. Her stepdaughter Marie (Eric) Hoth of Billings and Carol (Jim) Hauck and twin boys Emmett and Tyler also of Billings, MT. Her great grandchildren Danielle (Aaron) Eustice of Miles City, Brittany Schneider (Westin) and Colten Schneider of Fairview, MT, D.J. Schneider of Jordan, MT, Jordan Hagemeister, Wyatt Olson, Casey Schneider, and Liam Raymond all of Miles City. Two great great grandsons, Brody and Brady Eustice and Bradley Eustice who will be born in June. Step grandchildren Elizabeth(David) Lange and their six daughters of Williston, ND, Jonathon (Katherine) Stoner and their son, Cindy Stoner, David Hoth all of Billings, MT., Jonathon (Jessica) Hoth of Laurel, MT, Amanda (Jeff) Dertinger of ND, Teagan (Carly) of KY, Stephen, Victoria, Tate and Maria of ND. She is also survivied by her brother and sister in-law, Stanley and Lorraine Gerhardt of Mandan, ND and her sister Irene Muth of Portland, OR. Rose had a special place in her heart for her nephew and his wife, Jim and Arlene Young of Lindsey, MT and wonderful neighbors Carl & Ginger Mueller and their children.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, four brothers and two sisters, and a son Robert.
Rose had a heart full of love for children, if one desires memorials may be made to 3 in 1 Program at Grace Bible Church in her memory.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015 from1:00-6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery. We are so sorry to hear of Rosie’s passing. She was such a sweet lady and wonderful neighbor to our dad Bill, and we can never thank her enough for that.
Also her cinnamon rolls were the best in town….. Maybe her and dad are eating some up there right now!! RIP Rosie and God Bless the family during this sad time.
