Russell Lee Mann, husband of Arlene Mann, passed to our Lord on December 27, 2023, at the age of 93, in Miles City, Montana. Born to Susie Jane and Robert Lee Mann in Miles City, on November 18, 1930. He was raised on the family homestead in Spring Creek (Powderville), Montana. He graduated from Custer County High School, attended the community college in Miles City, and then joined the U.S. Navy where he served on a submarine based out of San Diego.
During his time in the Navy, he married Shirley Hagler. After being discharged, they moved to Kinsey, Montana where they farmed. Though he continued farming, Russell and Shirley moved to Miles City where he kept an office as he sold, then managed, insurance for Farmers Union Insurance, after earning life insurance underwriter’s certifications and financial planning endorsements.
Shirley Hagler Mann passed in 1978, and he married Myrna Thieven in 1980. Myrna Thieven Mann passed in 1984.
In 1986, Russ married Arlene Ingraham. Russell and Arlene continued their lives in Miles City, active in many community and church organizations. Russell, at times, was an active member, and often a leader or board member of organizations such as 4H, Toast Masters, Rotary, Kiwanis, Methodist Church, and the American Legion. In retirement he volunteered weekly at the VA and liked to fish, hunt, travel, and attend family sports and events.
He was very loyal to his family, being helpful and supportive through many challenges and celebrations. Russ was an integral part of the Ingraham family in Miles City, enjoying step grandchildren, and eventually great grandchildren’s games, events and their involvement in his activities.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Harold, Viola (Marie), Ethel, Edward and Larry; and former wives Shirley and Myrna.
He leaves behind a loving family including his wife Arlene; daughters Cheryl (Larry) Schweigert and Leah (Mike) Donovan; granddaughter Alaina (John) Michunovich; grandsons Blake (Melody) Schweigert, Ty Schweigert, and Joe (Bailey) Donovan; Stepchildren Marlene Watt, Dean (Kathie) Ingraham, and Bruce (Cindy) Ingraham; step grandchildren Jeremy (Sammy) Watt, Tim (Kachmir) Watt, Kelli McMorris, Jamie Flowers, Erica (Chief Warrant Officer Nathan) Armendaris, Tiffany Ingraham, Douglas (Caleb) Ingraham, Marc (Ashley) Ingraham; 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
