Sheila Marie (Carr) Capek, age 82, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at home in Miles City, MT.
Sheila was born on October 7, 1940 in Miles City, Montana, the daughter of George J. and Daisy R. (Oxford) Carr. She grew up and attended schools in Miles City. She was raised as a spitfire cattle ranch pioneer and a small-town country girl with the ambition to get out of town and see the world and make a better life for her family. She later returned to Miles City to care for her parents. She was widowed in 2011 and spent the remainder of her years in Miles City up until her death.
Sheila always had an adventurous spirit as well as a tough exterior with a very soft spot towards animals, veterans, elderly and nature. She absolutely loved dancing, camping, traveling, art, crafting, rescuing and raising animals. She loved helping as well as nursing our elderly and veterans. She enjoyed gardening, doing volunteer work at the VA as well as our school PTA events and loved giving what she could to others. We love her and will miss her greatly as we lost our safety net of home and her open arms whenever family or friends were in need.
Sheila is survived by her children: Kathrine, Christine and John along with 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her nieces and nephew: Jeanne, Susan and Gary Radmer with their families. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband John.
Sheila was laid to rest with her husband John Capek in the Eastern Montana State Veteran’s Cemetery in Miles City. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.
