Sherri Ann Overton, age 61, passed away at her home in Custer, Montana on January 20, 2018.
Sherri was born in Baker, MT to Tom and Edna (Freier) Atkinson on January 7, 1957. Four sisters and three brothers welcomed this precious baby sister. Dad reported to us after her birth that she was as cute as a button and fat as a butterball. Youngest brother David joined our family two years later.
Sherri was raised in Circle, Montana and attended elementary and middle school there. Sherri attended Lustre High School and graduated there. After graduation she moved with her parents and Brother David to Oregon. She worked as a customer service specialist in various grocery stores, working with Brother Monte and Later Leo and Aggie. She was a great employee and was great with customers. She left Oregon to be closer to her mom, Edna Atkinson, and Leo and Aggie and family, and Sandy and Barry Bohlman.
She moved to Custer, Montana and was employed at the Junction City Saloon and Café. She was known for her great personality, fun and laughter. Though never a mother, she loved her nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews as her own children.
Sherri was preceded in death by her parents, and a baby brother. Sherri is survived by Aggie (Leo) Schmidt, Carla (Ron) Brummel, Charles Atkinson, Sheila (Arden) Schwartz, Sandy (Barry) Bohlman, J.T. (Brenda) Atkinson, Monte (Annie) Atkinson, David (Marcia) Atkinson, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends, including Russel Ponessa.
Special thanks to her employer Denny Dinger and his wife of Custer, Montana.
A celebration of Sherri’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 1:30 p.m at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Circle, Montana. Condolences to the family may be sent by visiting www.stevensonandsons.com.

Dear Atkinson family,
Such wonderful memories I have of time spent with Sherri. Met on a bus trip our dads sent us on to CA, I think around our freshman year. Visited her in Circle several times in summer, and had great times. Riding mini bikes all over Circle and everything else we did. Loved Tom and Edna and all the family. Lost track of Sherri these last few years. Just learned about her passing away recently, and have felt so grieved. Way too young to have passed away! So wish I could have made it to her memorial service. Blessings to you all!

Atkinson Family:
I wanted to share to you all, Sheri and I had a special friendship and relationship since 1st grade. I will always cherish my memories, laughter, love, great times, sad times, and sharing times. All those years that we were together and the years that we did not get to see each other, and through the time that I was able to know where Sheri was, as I got to connect up with her and we shared together, cried together, and shared how much our love we had for each other and we treasured our friendship. I miss her dearly and I know that her heart loved our Lord and I will get to see her and reunite with her in heaven. God’s Love and Condolences to you all. May God Be with you all. Miss and Love her.
