Skye Marie Larimore, age 42, passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday, April6, 2023, at Holy Rosary Hospital.
Skye was born on January 5, 1981, in Denver, CO, to Joseph and Corinne Larimore of Miles City, Montana. Skye entered the world a month early, weighing only 3 pounds 12 ounces. Her dad said, “Heck, I’ve caught fish bigger than that!”
As a little girl, Skye was very active and always up to something. On one occasion, she decided it’d be a good idea to get to the basement of her childhood home by climbing into the homemade laundry chute. The family started looking for her as she had become very quiet. Upon entering her bedroom, they found her stuck in the chute from the waist down.
Another time, she was mad and decided she was moving out! She was going to walk to her Aunt Judy’s house on the opposite end of town; mind you, she’s only four or five years old. She actually made it all the way to Main Street and was getting ready to walk through the underpass when one of her sister Kristy’s friends saw her and picked her up.
Anyone who knew Skye knew she was a huge animal lover. She was always brining home stray dogs, so much so that started calling her the “Dog Whisperer.” Whenever she came home, the family dogs would follow her like she was the pack leader.
Skye was preceded in death by her Aunt Carol (Terry) Grant, her paternal grandfather Laverne “Ken” Larimore, and her maternal grandparents Kathleen and Charles Roos of Terry, Montana.
She is survived by her parents, her sister Kristy (Ronald) Jones of Columbus, Georgia, her sister Tara Larimore of Miles City, Montana, her paternal grandmother Mary Larimore of Terry, Montana, her life companion Troy Manolovits of Miles City, Montana, her niece Tawnee (David) Forsse of Oak Grove, Louisiana, her nephew Hunter (Abbey) Tetschner of Miles City, Montana, her uncle Douglas (Judith) Roos of Miles City, Montana, her uncle Laverne “Marsh” (Val) Larimore of Whitefish, Montana, her beloved dog Coco, and her many cousins.
The family would like to thank the doctors and medical staff at Billings Clinic Hospital and SCL Holy Rosary Hospital. They were so good to Skye and gave her the best medical care possible.
Should memorials be desired, they can be made to the American Heart Association or the Humane Society.
