Sylvia “Sam” Keeter, age 66, of Miles City passed away Friday, July 20, 2012 at her home in Miles City.
Sam was born on October, 20 1945 in Dallas, TX to Horace & Katie (Teague) Bailey. She grew up and graduated high school in Dallas, TX. She spent some time in Shreveport, LA as a manager of Kroger. She moved to Miles City in 1990. She was a CNA at Holy Rosary Healthcare for several years, as well as a teacher at Kinsey. When Sam worked at Holy Rosary she was the happiest she had ever been. Her love was taking care of and helping the elderly as well as listening to their stories about how things were in the good old days. Sam was the finest friend a person could ask for. No one had more good friends in this life then Sam all the way from Louisiana back to Montana. She loved to ride horses, the wildlife and all the beauty that comes with living in Montana. Now that she has entered heaven she will have no more tears, heartache or sadness, just love for everyone who are there waiting for her.
Sam is survived by her daughter Karla Scott of Shreveport, LA; a son Robert (Stacy) Brown of Miles City, MT; two sisters: Glenda Mersh and Faye Millender both of Dallas, TX and one brother Ben Bailey of Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents Horace & Katie Bailey, and her husband Doyle Keeter.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Private family interment will be held at a later date back home in Louisiana. Should friends desire, condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.

Goodbye my beautiful, loving, little sister. I love you very much.
When you were two years old mom would put medicine on your thumb to stop you from sucking it. You would cry to me “fix it sissy” and I would wash it off in the toilet. Sis I wish I could’ve fixed this for you, but I guess you fixed it. No more stress and pain now! Kiss mom and dad for me. I will miss you and your sweet love.
Rest In Peace,
Your big Sissy

Sam , you were an amazing grandma! Always had a positive out look on life. You used to kill me with all your funny sayings. Like the one about the turkey and the mosquito. I have so many great memories of us. And I thank God for that. Be sure to look over all of us. And when I get there , I want you to be waiting by the gates for me. I love you , always and forever.

Sam, I think you must be the wildest and craziest girl I ever met. But then what would you expect from a redheaded cajun anyway? You made a lot of friends when you were out here in Oregon visiting, and they still talk about the cajun dishes you fixed for them. I still remember how brave you were riding on the back of my Harley over the Astoria bridge at the mouth of the Columbia River. You didn’t tell me until later the height of the bridge terrified you so much. I miss you Sam, love Lin
