Timothy Thomas McCloy, age 64 slipped into the gates of Heaven on October 2, 2021 from complications of pneumonia at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Tim was born on June 12, 1957, in Wolf Point Montana and was the youngest son of Elmo (Robert) and Evelyn McCloy.
Tim attended the Washington School through the eighth grade and graduated from Circle High School in 1975. Tim helped out on the family farm throughout his early years, learning many different skills from his dad. After graduating Tim traveled a bit with his Uncle Tom & Aunt Alma Madsen. When he returned home, he started working for McCone County Road Department. Later he met and married Donna Stroh, April 10, 1982, and was blessed with two children in this union, Dustin and Diane. In the fall of 1984, he dug a basement and moved in a house to start his cattle ranch on the hill. After several years of marriage, Tim and Donna divorced. Tim kept Dustin and Diane on the ranch. In the fall of 1995, he met Vickie (Meissner) Solberg who had two children Kelsy and Cleve. They were married on January 2, 1998. With this union of the two families “the 6-pack” was formed.
Throughout Tim and Vickie’s 23 plus years of marriage, they made sure to instill a strong work ethic and comradery between them and their children. They are very proud of their children with all their accomplishments and the families they have created. He loved his children but the love for his grandchildren was immeasurable. Papa Tim loved giving his grandchildren a bad time, cheesy poofs and M&M’s he was always willing to play and have his grandchildren ride the bus out to his house after school.
After working 36 years at McCone County Road Department, he retired to spend more time on the ranch and help his kids with getting their projects going as well. Tim mentioned often that he was busier with projects and helping others after retiring. Between his own projects and his children’s, he didn’t have a lot of down time. Tim enjoyed keeping in touch with his brothers, sister and neighbors on a regular basis. He enjoyed taking care of his cows, haying, and spending time puttering on various projects. He started driving bus again fulltime after retirement for the Union Route.
Tim was always a great host, loved visiting with everyone he met, and enjoyed playing pinochle when there would be enough players. Tim will be missed for his smile and wise cracks. He always knew how to lighten the mood. Tim was truly a joyful spirit. He will be missed for all his great words of advice and his way of being able to fix anything.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie of Circle. His children Dustin (Amy) McCloy of Circle, Diane (Joe) Meeks of Circle, Kelsy (Michael) Hale of Circle, and Cleve (Allie) Solberg of Circle. Grandchildren Abigail and Jaxton McCloy, Jaden and Jalyn Meeks, Brayden, Cameron and Jameson Hale, Riona Solberg. Brother David (Rachel) McCloy, Brother Richard McCloy, Brother Rodney McCloy, Brother Bill (Cheryl) McCloy, brother Pat (Colleen) McCloy and Sister Mary (Randy) Kindell, many nieces and nephews.

To Vickie, Dustin, Diane, Kelsey, and Cleve (and kiddos) I send my love and these memories:
Tim was a great neighbor and friend to our family. From making sure we had a safe place to park where we caught the bus, to helping with brandings and celebrating the completion of a neighbor’s new shop, to catching crawdads and avoiding rattle snakes at Fort Peck, Trick-or-treating, or having us over to play cards while the mezzanine level in your home was under construction—in all my memories, Tim was good natured, kind, funny, generous, and thoughtful towards me and my family.
It was great to grow up with such kind neighbors as your family, and I am very sad for your loss. Much love to all of you 💙
