Vernon Wyatt Bullcoming – Hohkeehemo’o “Mouse Trail” – entered the spirit world on Sunday, June 10th, 2018 at the comfort of his home in Lame Deer, MT, surrounded by loved ones, including his wife, Rhoda Bullcoming.
Vernon was born to Kathryn Nibbs-Bullcoming and Roy Bullcoming. He was raised by his grandparents Ida (Gainy) (White) Bullcoming and Bullcoming Up, both of Fonda, Oklahoma.
Vernon made his traditional ways a priority in his life and was an active member of the Native American Church. He participated in numerous Native American ceremonies including sweats, fasting, sundance (painter), piercing, peyote meetings, and Arrow Worship. He had many brothers and sisters of the Native American Church and loved traveling and visiting with each of them.
He was a “Jack of all trades” that pursued various types of work and was always willing to learn different skills and assets. His work included transportation for the school district in Seiling, Oklahoma, road construction (concrete laborer) for companies all over Oklahoma, attended school for asbestos and also worked at a water department in Oklahoma City. He also helped build houses on the Northern Cheyenne reservation, he was a foreman for the Colstrip power plant 1 & 2 in Montana, and worked at a plastic factory for St. Labre.
His hobbies included traveling and seeing new places, painting, singing, breaking horses, and his love for baseball. Vernon put in the extra effort and walked every morning to Longdale, Oklahoma from Fonda to watch the locals play baseball. They eventually asked him to join them and found that he had great talent throwing a fast pitch with many different curve balls, he could pitch at 190 MPH and even broke a man’s three fingers when he tried to catch it. He almost played professionally until he came to Montana where he met the love of his life, Rhoda Spotted Elk. You can find Vernon in the Hall of Fame in Parington, Texas.
Vernon thought a lot of his family, friends, and relatives and always chose to be the better man with a great heart and great respect for the Cheyenne ceremonies.
He has made many friends and acquaintances throughout his lifetime no matter where he went and we apologize for any names not mentioned.

Was sorry to hear of Vernon’s passing. He always said I was his sister because his mother had “adopted” me as a daughter. Wish we could be there to pay our respects, but know that you are prayed for and hope to see you sometime this summer. Peace and Blessings!
